For this assignment I must choose a famous/iconic painting and using a camera and tools such as photoshop, I must create a parody of it in the form of a fashion shoot. For this I have chosen Picasso's 'Weeping Woman'
Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) was a spanish painter who became very famous for his developements in cubism. This piece which was part of a series of ten 'Weeping Woman's was painted in 1937 using oil on canvas, and was painted after the Spanish Civil War. It is thought to be referred to as a universal image of suffering. The fragments of her face depict her literally falling apart with grief, the bold colours expressing the intensity of her misery.
To create this photoshoot I am going to create a yellow backdrop to bring out the boldness of the woman in the picture. The model I have chosen has blue hair, and using face paint I will recreate the lines and jaggedness of this piece, finishing it off in photoshop by disorting the picture.
